We started our journey back in 2020 when, like so many of us, we spent many weeks at a time in isolation.
While contact with the rest of the outside world was limited, we used exercise time to visit the river and a local woodland trail within walking distance of our home. These outings brought beauty, balance and perspective to our lives from the scenes we invited ourselves into and we made the most of these times watching the landscapes around us change with the seasons.
We found that, unlike so many other things at the time, nature not only remained a constant but was thriving. With the wellbeing benefits these interactions with nature brought to us and our children, we considered how we could reconnect with nature in our homes as well and from there our experimenting began!
Starting with aquascaping, a friend donated us an aquarium in November 2020 and we decided we’d use it as a first opportunity to attempt to create a natural river scape for us all to enjoy at any time of the day as the winter months drew in. Working with local small businesses and other fanatics (as we very quickly became!) over a period of 3 months, we achieved the dream!
The cycle of creating and watching the environment flourish fascinated us and our children and we were keen to expand our experimenting to plants and moss that lived on the land too.
We started to create terrariums and mossariums using recycled glass, plants, soils and moss sourced from small businesses that felt the same as us about preserving the environment.
With our children on the journey with us, they also now truly love, understand and appreciate how nature can flourish of its own accord when nurtured and protected.
It’s now our goal to help to share that same love, understanding and appreciation with others while creating products that help people of all ages to connect and enjoy the beauty and wellbeing benefits that come from bringing nature within.
Our product range is primarily nature and organic-based gifts for the home including terrariums, mossariums and aquascapes - we also make commissioned pieces.
We are committed to ensuring that our products are affordable and accessible for all to enjoy with our prices for micro-scapes starting from £3.
We are passionate about environmental sustainability and grow our own products and source those we can't from ethical suppliers and stockists supporting other small and local businesses wherever possible.
We use recycled and bio-degradable materials across our product range including our glass terrariums and packaging.
